DIM STARS
Some Star Guardians burn out quickly and brightly. Others stay for a long time, growing more and more bitter as their flame suffocates and fades.
Viktor
A Star Guardian bearing the navy blue uniform, Viktor is logical and methodical, preferring to analyse each situation before engaging in a conflict or entering combat. He is marked by dim starlight.Viktor is bound by duty to the First Star and serves it as a defender of the Universe, but he clearly displays his dissatisfaction with this. However, for a yet unknown reason, his dedication is absolute.In civilian form, Viktor wears sunglasses and a tied left sleeve to hide his missing eye and arm. He had lost them in an old battle with one of his previous teammates Syndra, when she had been under the control of cosmic corruption. The First Star grants Viktor a controllable metal replacement for his missing limb whenever he changes into his Guardian form. A polished white mask covers his face then as well. From his damaged shoulder, an auto-targeting magical add-on extends when he enters combat. His familial is Waatu, a winged eyeball. Viktor considers this to be proof of First Star's love for irony, considering his own missing eye.Weapons at his disposal are a high energy laser beam and a magical staff. He is an experienced flyer although he doesn't like travelling that way - he'd rather take the bus. Shielding and area manipulation are his favourite tools in combat but he is a formidable and experienced fighter.Ever since the leader of his original Guardian team perished, Viktor has preferred to work alone. He doesn't like explaining himself nor the situation, and to him it's always easier to do the job yourself without relying on others who could become a liability.Unfortunately, the First Star had plans for this solitary Guardian. It assigned him as a mentor to a new generation of young Star Guardians...To watch over them, he works as a substitute math teacher in their school and makes sure to regularly give them hard math homework.
The Team
Viktor was an astronomer by profession and was both stunned and devastated when he got chosen by the First Star to be a Guardian at just the age of 23. His faith in science had been shattered, everything he used to believe in scattered to the wind. He lost his feeling of belonging anywhere. This new cosmic duty forced him into secrecy and caused him to see less and less of his normal life friends until he was completely alone. He knew no other Star Guardian from everyday life either. But this first period of solitude would end for him soon.A magenta Guardian restored his belief in purpose when she was assigned to his team as leader. She gave them direction and courage, but was taken too soon in a catastrophic battle against cosmic corruption when she sacrificed herself to save others. The team fell apart shortly after.Viktor turned sour and volatile, lashing out at others and preferring to deal with threats alone - continuing to do so out of respect for his late friend's memory. Some speculated there were mutual feelings between him and the late magenta Guardian, but he denied it.He now deals with his own situation by reminding himself of her dedication to the Guardian cause.~This new situation with the young Star Guardians might prove to be a game-changer, one way or another.
